Lead Keel Casting & Sailboat Keel Manufacturer
The Lead Alloy Yacht Keel is the bottom-most longitudinal structural element on a vessel. On sailboats, it serves a crucial hydrodynamic and counterbalancing purpose. As one of the leading sailboat keel manufacturers, we specialize in high-quality lead keel casting for both traditional and modern yachts. OEM long deep keels and custom keel block casting are common requests we handle, providing maximum strength and stability for the hull structure.
Hengchang is a professional custom lead alloy yacht keel factory. We primarily use the resin sand casting process to produce our keels. Resin sand is a type of quartz sand mixed with a resin material. The chemical reaction created by the resin helps to bind and stiffen the sand to make solid, hard, and strong molds. The mold can create 3D products in a variety of shapes, configurations, and sizes. Once the mold is made, materials are poured into it, and the sand’s refractory properties keep the mold stable. The sand is then removed through a shakeout process, and the metal is cut, ground, finished, and assembled into the final product.
A wide variety of metals can be used in resin sand cast molding due to the sand’s high-temperature tolerances. Therefore, iron, titanium, nickel alloys, and heavy lead alloys can be perfectly utilized in this process.
